Q: Age?

Q: Requests?
A: I used to in the past, but I won't do it anymore because it is absolutely impossible to keep up with them.

Q: website and a CD?
A: Currently, zmaui has temp layout for the website (kylelandry.com), and the website itself will be completed shortly. Now, about the composition CD, it's been ready for a while, but I just need to redo a couple of the pieces on it. The CD will be available online on my website(paying will be done by paypal).

Q: Your piano & the price?
A: Yamaha p-120, it was roughly 1000 USD.

Q: How long have you been playing, did you have a teacher, do you still have a teacher, how did you learn to improvise, etc?
A: I have been playing since July 28th 1998, so it's been a little over 8 years. I've had the same teacher since day one and I still go to her. She wants me to get a new teacher now though =(. I started picking up improvising in about 6th grade when I started composing as well (it just happened, don't know how). Ever since then I have been developing these two abilities.

Q: How can I learn how to improvise?
A: I'm not too sure. But I've heard of some teachers who can teach it.

Q: Do you know musical theory?
A: Nope. My teacher never taught me. She didn't even teach me scales and what not, but I learned those eventually by playing so many different pieces. I've made up my "own" theory since I don't know real theory. But from what I gather, what I've come up with in my head so far, is very similiar to real theory, it just doesn't have all that terminology and such.

Q: Sheet music man!?
A: Ok, I get all my sheets from almost all the same sites. For anime I use Josh's (http://www.alphatrance.com/0e ngine/music/anime/master- index.php
). For final fantasy I use FFshrine (http://ffmusic.ffshrine.org/) . Another good little site for game and anime music is ichigos (http://ichigos.com). An all around wonderful game music site is GMT (http://gamemusicthemes.com). For classical music, you can use SMA (http://www.sheetmusicarchive. net/index.cfm). Anything else, I'm sorry but you're on your own to either buy it somewhere online or at a store, or use google! Hope this helps.

Q: You have two accounts?
A: Yes during summer 06 something went wrong with this account and it wouldn't allow me to upload, so I hurried and made a new account "kyle5556" to post on there. Once this account started working again, I stopped posting on kyle5556 so it's just sitting here on youtube, vacant, with about 18 videos.

Q: Do you transcribe your improvs?
A: No T_T.

Q: Do you send sheet music and/or mp3s to people?
A: Sorry but I can't, there just isn't enough time!

Q: I want to start playing piano, what should I do?
A: You should first think about how much money you have, to see if you can afford it. Look for a piano teacher, and ask them what they reccomend for a piano or keyboard. If you don't want to do that, then try buying a keyboard on your own. I would suggest something from the Yamaha P-series like mine, but they can get rather pricey. Either way, buy something with the full 88 keys! Now, if you don't want a teacher, I don't know much about self teach, maybe try buying a book? Or use google! I'm not sure. I would go with the teacher.

Q: How much do you practice?
A: The answer is.. well, there isn't an exact amount of time I practice. It all depends on how I feel. I can assure you I play piano only when I feel like it. Whether it be 30 minutes, nothing at all, or 3 hours (which would usually happen on a saturday). I actually, almost never "practice" persay, but rather, I just play. Like simply improvise nothing. It's quite relaxing, and it's way less stressful than practicing. Usually, if I'm really in the mood, I'll just go to the piano for like 10 minutes every hour or so. That's usually when I'm doing something on my computer and I get bored for a moment. I play because I want to. I'm trying to stress that, I didn't know if you noticed XD. Anyway, If I really practice, and take out some chopin and try to learn it, then that is quite rare. That is usually when I sit there for 3 hours on a saturday :P. If you want to know about the old me... then I say I would have practiced the pieces my teacher assigned me about 45 minutes to an hour a day. Of course giving my self breaks from the piano for a day from time to time.

Please please, if you have any suggestions for more questions on this FAQ, feel free to send them to my message box, it would help me a lot to make this bigger. I can't think of everything all at once heh. Just try to make sure it's a question that seems like it would be asked a lot. What do YOU think this FAQ is missing? I have to get prepared for the FAQ on the website XD.
