April 2007 Changes
Where did all the links below profile pictures go?
We have moved some links from below the profile picture to the bottom of the page. The hope was that this would reduce clutter on the profile page. The links you can see are different depending on whether you are viewing your own profile, or someone else's profile.
The links people use most often are below the profile picture, while less frequently used links are at the bottom of the page. For example, the options to remove a friend or report an abusive non-friend are now at the bottom of the page. If you want to see all of a user's friends, just click on the "View All Friends" link at the bottom of the Friends in Other Networks box.

Where did My Shares go?
Don't worry; we didnt lose the content formerly found on your My Shares page. Any content that was shared with you by a friend can now be found in your Inbox alongside your messages. If you look back in your Inbox at the date and time you received the shared content, you should still be able to see it.
Any content that you have posted to your profile can now be found on your Posted Items page. You can access this page by clicking on Posted Items on the left side of the page and selecting My Posted Items. You can also access this page by going to your profile and using the dropdown menu to select My Posted Items.

Where did My Photos, Groups, and Notes go?
The links on the left side of your page now point to the home pages for photos, notes, groups, events, and posts. These home pages try to highlight interesting uses of these applications including your friends' recent activity. For instance, the photos home page shows the albums recently uploaded by your friends.
In some cases, the home page view no longer displays your own content. For instance, we don't show your photo albums by default because they do not change frequently. Don't worry, however, you can still easily access your stuff. On most of these pages, your content is linked to in the upper left hand corner of the page.
Also, you can immediately access your own content by going to your profile and using the dropdown menu to select the feature you want to see. For instance, clicking on the groups option from your profiles dropdown menu will take you directly to your groups list.

Can I see the profiles of people on other networks?
Facebook was intentionally designed to limit the availability of your profile to only your friends and other people on your networks. This simple but important security measure promotes local networking and makes sure that your information is seen by people you want to share it with, and not by people you don't.
How do I add another network?
Facebook allows you to be a member of up to five different networks. For instance, transfers and grad students can be part of networks at two different schools. Recent college grads can be affiliated with their school and their place of work. You get the idea.
When you join a work or college network, you will need to have a valid email address for your company or college; we authenticate your network affiliation by emailing that address. High school students can only be affiliated with one high school at a time (i.e. the school they currently attend). You may belong to only one regional network.
To add a new network, simply go to the Networks tab of the Account page. On the right side of the page, enter your school or work email address in the appropriate box to join a school or work network. An email will then be sent to the address that you listed. As soon as you click on the link that we send in this email, the appropriate network affiliation will be added to your Facebook account. This will allow you to view profiles, join groups, and be found in searches on that network. You can establish different privacy settings for each one of these networks from the Privacy page.
