Entrepreneur Jonathan Abrams founded Friendster in 2002. The company is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Benchmark Capital, Battery Ventures, and individual investors.

Executive Management Team

Kent Lindstrom, President

Kent Lindstrom is Friendster's President and manages the day to day business operations at the company. Prior to taking the position of President, he served as Friendster's CFO from March 2003 to Jan 2006. Kent joined Friendster in 2002 as one of the company's first employees.

Kent has over 15 years of experience in finance and management consulting, including significant large-firm management experience. He was a senior manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP, specializing in strategic planning and finance. He left Deloitte & Touche in his partnership year to join NetRead as its first President. Prior to Deloitte & Touche, Kent was an officer of First Colonial Bankshares Corporation.

Kent is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

Aaron Barnes, Vice President of Sales & Business Development

As Friendster's Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Aaron manages all sales, business development, and advertising operations for the company.

Aaron brings over 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations with an impressive track record in online advertising sales, business development and subscriptions. Aaron has held senior sales, marketing and business development roles at Sequoia Capital backed Quote.com (Lycos Finance), Trident Capital backed WhenU, Inc., and publicly traded Looksmart (NASDAQ: LOOK). Aaron's sales strategies and tactics implemented have resulted in Friendster scaling revenue to historic company highs in 2006 while in parallel significantly improving the synergistic efficiencies of strategic business alliances.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of Pennsylvania and studied Entrepreneurial Management at The Wharton School of Business.

Chander Sarna, Vice President of Engineering

Chander Sarna is the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Friendster. Chander joined Friendster in March 2006 and currently manages a best in class team of engineers with extensive experience working at high-profile start-ups. Prior to Friendster, Chander was a Senior Director of Engineering at Siebel Systems and VP of Engineering at Greenlight.com. Additional work experience includes Director of Product Development at Netscape and engineering positions at Borland, Tandem and Intel.

Chander holds an MSCS from SUNY Stony Brook, MSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic & a BSEE from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani.

David Jones, Vice President of Marketing

David L. Jones joins Friendster with more than 17 years experience in marketing, business development, and product and business strategy. Prior to joining Friendster, David held several marketing and general management roles at eBay Inc, including roles focused on scaling the number of active members of the eBay community. David was also the director of eBay's media and entertainment businesses in the United States. Prior to eBay, David was the Vice President of Business Development at Blue Wireless and an associate partner at the management and technology consulting firm of Arthur D. Little.

David holds a B.A. from Stanford University in Quantitative Economics With Honors & Distinction, 1990.
